In June 2007 the PICUM International Conference on Access to Health Care for Undocumented Migrants took place in Europe. The conference report can be downloaded in English and in French.
On the 19th November 2007, a report on "Access to Health Care for Undocumented Migrants in Europe" was published by PICUM. The report presented the findings and recommendations of PICUM's two year EU project 'Access to Health Care for Undocumented Migrants in Europe'. Field trips were carried out in 11 countries (Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, UK) and numerous meetings were held in Brussels with our 19 partner organisations consisting of NGO's, Health Care Professionals and Local Authorities.
The report detailed legislation and practice concerning health care for undocumented migrants in each of the countries and highlighted growing reliance upon civil society actors to provide urgent and life-saving care to those in need.
